Hi, I’m a first-time mom living in Toronto. This blog is a space I’ve wanted to create since becoming a mom, and I suppose I’ve come up for air long enough lately that I’m making it happen. I am 10 months into mat leave, raising a son and expanding in love in ways I could’ve never imagined. But I am also figuring out who I am now.

I’ve been writing blog posts in my head for the past couple months every time I experience something with my son that feels like it’s bigger than me. I’ve found myself wondering how many of these experiences are shared. So here I am, sharing it,

My son is of Salvadorean-Peruvian-Egyptian descent. His dad and I were both born in Latin America, and raised here in Canada. Deciding what to preserve and pass down from our cultural inheritance and what to change from “how it’s always been done” is a nuanced dance.
